What is CHM?

SMEs and companies of all sizes benefit from effective Corporate Health Management. By designing structures and processes to promote health, companies not only strengthen the well-being of their employees but also the performance of the entire organization.

Corporate Health Management (CHM) is teamwork. It thrives on the participation of everyone – from management to employees. Anchored in the company culture, it pays off twice over: for the health of the people and the long-term success of the company.

The elements of CHM

Corporate Health Management can be effectively represented by three pillars:

Occupational safety and health

The first pillar, occupational safety and health, combines preventive measures that are legally required (e.g., according to the Employment Act (ArG), the Federal Act on Accident Insurance (UVG), the Chemicals Act or the Participation Act).

Corporate
Health promotion

The second pillar, corporate health promotion, aims to reduce stress and increase resources through measures to change behavior and improve working conditions.

Integration into the workplace

The third pillar, dealing with absences and returning to work, refers not only to avoiding and reducing absences and promoting re-entry, but also to the inclusion of people with physical or mental impairments.

The corporate health management system combines all mandatory (1st pillar) and implemented optional (2nd and 3rd pillars) measures for the health and safety of employees.

For the sustainable implementation of corporate health management, it is often promising to take action on all three levels. This means designing work and the organization in a way that promotes health, as well as empowering and motivating employees to adopt healthy behaviors.
